INTRODUCTION
At inception, the head of AHQ Garrison Finance was referred to as the Staff Officer Grade 1 Finance (SO1 Finance). The SO1 Fin was responsible to the Commander AHQ Garrison. He advices the Commander on all financial matters.
The SO1 Finance was in charge of AHQ Garrison Finance. Thereafter, its head was changed to Commander Garrison Finance ... And Accounts with the implementation of the Continental General Staff System (CGSS) by the corps in 2008. This is the appointment of the head of AHQ Garrison Finance till date. The chronology shows the various SO1 Finance officers and CGFA’s of AHQ Garrison Finance from inception till date.
HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT
AHQ Garrison Finance was formerly called AHQ Camp Fin. It was established purposely for the Payment of troops Salary and allowances of serving personnel’s in ARMY HEADQUARTERS. It was formerly commanded by Staff officer class 1(SO1) which was Major or Lt-Col,It was later changed to Commander Garrison Finance and Accounts (CGFA) Commanded by Rank of ... COLONEL.
The history of AHQ Garrison Finance is closely related to the history of AHQ Garrison which established its Headquarters at Abuja where it is up to date. AHQ Garrison Finance came to effect therefore, with the formation of AHQ Garrison Command, Abuja.
