INTRODUCTION
The 8 Task Force Division (8 TF Div) Nigerian Army is one of the newly formed Divisions among the 8 Divisions of the Nigerian Army. It became operational with effect from the 22nd of August, 2013.
HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT
The 8 Task Force Division Finance (8 TF Div Fin) was created among others to administer troops’ OP LAFIYA DOLE Ration Cash Allowance (RCA), 30 percent of Operation Allowance, Formation/Unit sustenance fund, overhead and Admin expenses, payment of NAWIS/Ben Fund and NA Life Cover Policy to Next of Kins of deceased personnel. The 8 TF Div Fin ... was established specifically to tackle financial issues as it relates to troops in Op LAFIYA DOLE.
It is however, pertinent to state here that this Division is peculiar because it is a front line Division with its peculiar nature of operation. Troops are often found in deep jungles and terrains that are beyond reach, therefore making it an upheaval task to get across to units in order to get them paid. Nevertheless, the NA galant personnel somehow, have devised methods to achieve this. The history of 8 TF Div Fin is closely related to the history of 8 TF Div Nigerian Army. 8 TF Div Fin came to effect therefore, with the formation of 8 TF Div Nigerian Army.
