81 Division Finance

INTRODUCTION

The Nigerian Army Finance Corps (NAFC) is a service support corps responsible for managing and administering the Nigerian Army (NA) financial resources. To effectively perform its roles, the NAFC has sub-units in line with the NA Order of Battle. Finance offices in various formations and units constitute the NAFC sub-units. Finance offices are located in all Divisions ... in the NA. 81 Division Finance is located in Bonny Cantonment, Victoria Island, Lagos.

HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT

The units started as Lagos Garrison Finance Office in 1970 and was commanded by Paymasters. It transformed into 4 Infantry Division Pay Office in 1975 and later to Army Headquarters (AHQ) Garrison Signal Pay Office in 1984. In 1988, the designation of Paymasters became Assistant Director Army Finance and Accounts (ADAFA) when the unit name changed to ... AHQ Garrison Pay Office. In 1992, AHQ Garrison moved to Abuja and Lagos Garrison Command (LGC) was formed in Lagos. AHQ Garrison Finance Office in Lagos also became LGC Finance Office in 1992. LGC transformed to 81 Division in 2000 and the unit name also became 81 Division Finance. The unit was administered by ADAFAs up to April 2008. With the implementation of the Continental General Staffing System (CGSS) by the NA and NAFC, ADAFA became Commander Division Finance and Accounts (CDFA) in May 2008. The core values of 81 Division Finance is to keep the dream of the CAB (A) alive by striving to positively project the image of NAFC by effectively performing its established roles. 81 Division Finance intends to be a shinning example in the realization of the CAB (A)’s vision. 81 Division Finance have gone through various stages of transformation from 1970 till date. It has the responsibilities of providing financial advice and support to 81 Division both in peace and war times. The unit has achieved a lot till date especially in the area of training, discipline and regimental activities.
