INTRODUCTION
The Nigerian Army Finance Corps (NAFC) is a service support corps responsible for managing and
administering the Nigerian Army (NA) financial resources. To effectively perform its roles,
the NAFC has sub-units in line with the NA Order of Battle. Finance offices in various formations
and units constitute the NAFC sub-units. Finance offices are located in
all Divisions in the NA. 1 Division Finance is located in headquarters 1 Division, Kaduna.
HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT
Headquarters 1 Division was established during the civil war. It is charged
with the responsibility of securing its Area of Responsibility (AOR) covering
the North Western flank of Nigeria and also ensuring that the borders located
in its AOR are secured. The Division is a mechanized infantry with affiliated
combat support and combat service support ... units. The division finance was formed with varying responsibilities such as providing financial advice and support to
1 Division both in peace and war times. The unit was administered by ADAFAs up
to April 2008. With the implementation of the Continental General Staffing System
(CGSS) by the NA and NAFC, ADAFA became Commander Division Finance and Accounts (CDFA)
in May 2008. Brigadier General JD Ogbaje is the current Commander of 1 Division Finance.
